Sharmada Balu is a former professional tennis player from India with a distinguished career on the ITF/WTA circuit. She achieved a career-high WTA singles ranking of 566 and a doubles ranking of 381. She was also the former India No. 3 in both women's singles and doubles. Sharmada represented India at the Fed Cup in 2012 and won a gold medal in doubles at the 2016 South Asian Games. She has claimed 19 international titles on the ITF Pro Circuit and is a two-time women's doubles national champion as well as a singles finalist.
Sharmada was part of our coaching team at RBTA from 2020 to 2024 and is now working on the operations and administrative end of the academy.
